An American Painter

George Wright, Jr. is an American Artist born and raised in Cambridge, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  He is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and was greatly inspired by the legendary painter, Norman Rockwell.  The two artists eventually met in Rockwell’s home studio. 

Today George in his 70´s continues to paint scenes of the Chesapeake  Bay region, commissioned portraits of historical Americans like Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglas; famous athletes; and the wild life, waterman, and waterways of his beloved Dorchester County, Maryland and more.
